Did you ever want to just magically be an artist?
I didn't realize it, but I started painting out of instinct. While stationed in Germany, I live in government housing. In the kitchen were these hideous beige tiles on the walls. Back then when you lived in government housing, the walls had to be white. yuk! So, when they finally allowed us to use pastel colors on the walls, I just started painting. I remember adding pink lines in the tile grout, to spruce up that ugly tile. I also painted cute little pictures on them. Man, had I been entrepreneur minded at that time I could be a millionaire by now. dang. Oh, back to painting. I was later introduced to bisque figurines. I could paint for hours. I would forget that I had to feed my family.
I remember when I decided to paint the walls in the home that I now own. I'd chosen this lovely brown color. Hey, I had small kids with dirty hands. I was being creative. I was so happy painting that wall. I decided to step away for a minute. AHHHH, the brown wall had green undertones. Okay, how am I going to fix this? I mixed a darker brown that I had with the brown-green paint and wala... I'd created the perfect color for suede. My accident had turned into the most amazing "I meant to do that", I'd every accidently intentionally done. My walls now look like suede. Now I have this attitude... It's just paint. So go get um. Buy some paint and work it out all over those walls. You can always paint over it.

I can't wait to find time to paint in our house. It hasn't been painted for 11 years or something like that! Just when to find the time. I enjoy doing it though. I have a friend who paints every 6 months! I guess the drawback for me is not really the painting, because I enjoy that part, but it's the cleaning up and moving furniture part that really gets me!
