My Purpose

People are amazed that I actually build the children's furniture. They almost always ask, "You built that?" "How did you know how to build it?" Most of the time I say, I just bought the tools and began cutting. I was sitting here thinking today... that's not necessarily true. While I was in high school, I remember being the only girl in the shop class. Although I enjoyed shop, the reason I took the class was to meet guys. Had I known better, I would've been in Home Economics... that's where the boys were. LOL! It just reminded me that I've never put limits on myself, "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me." That shop class, fixing broken irons, crocheting, drawing, painting knitting, playing my clarinet, majoring in Math... all done from my youth. I had no clue as to what I was doing sometimes, but I believe I was preparing me for the life I'm living at this moment.
My purpose!
Now had I taken Home Ec, I'd probably be a better cook, but as long as my chef continues to work for me, we won't starve. Well, he or she actually works at Walmart or Kroger. ;)

Supporting enterprising youths

I've been helping the girls with the upcoming teen magazine. I've tried talking them into changing the name to something more memoriable. One of the girls aren't too happy about that. I've met several people interested in supporting their cause. One person is Camille Garrick. Camille is an artist, photographer, and she works in marketing. Camille offered to print the magazine for the girls. Isn't that wonderful? She has been on vacation this week, we can't wait for her to come back so that the printing can begin. I addition to all of her talents, this year she decided to homeschool. whew! I wish I had her energy and drive.
Thanks Camille for all of your support.

New author resource link

I was on the phone with a customer who shared this site with me. So, I naturally wanted to share this with my BLOG friends. It looks like the company will walk you through the steps it takes to publish a book. http://www.authorhouse.com
The publishing guide explains print-on-demand and how it helps authors as well as other services the company provides. One service they allows you to choose to have them market your book for you and send you on book signing, they also provide the service to obtain the ISBN, and you can also . Of course those types of things come with a price, but I guess it's worth it.
There's also another link you can try, www.lulu.com
